The Echoes of Eternity Trilogy

The Mortal and the Shadow - Book 1

An intriguing tale inspired by the mystery of Sleep Token lore with the yearning of a Hozier song, The Mortal and the Shadow blends paranormal fantasy with modern romance, threatened by the overarching theme of time itself.

The Mortal and the Shadow is a novel which explores self liberation through consensual shared intimacy, trauma reprocessing, and breaking free from cycles of toxic control.

Equinox (WIP)

Dystopian Survival

In a world centered around survival, how does one find time to connect?

Equinox explores the story between two lone wolves that found one another through circumstance, and reluctantly learn to tolerate each other.

Or is that something else... Something deeper?

A Punk-Rock Romance (WIP)

Cozy Real-Life Romance

Inspired by "Sk8er Boi" by Avril Lavigne, this novel explores what might have been if the pretty girl gave the alt boy a chance.

Privilege meets struggle in this cozy, emotional romance about a couple of opposites who find they may have more in common than they could have imagined.

References to (excellent) early 2000's pop-punk and emo will have any Millennial reader feeling right at home.

The Cerronian Chronicles (WIP)

A Sci-fi Opera

Set in a future where war raged between Human and Synthetic AI, sending what was left of both to the stars.

The novels in this series explore the concept of being alienated, even among your own people.

Found family, tested loyalty, and lots and LOTS of aliens & robots.

The Mortal and the Shadow

"The Mortal and the Shadow was a cannot-put-this-down read. The characters and world-building was truly unique and something I haven't experienced before. I really enjoyed how we as a reader are figuring things out with the MC as the book goes on. There's magic, action, romance, self-discovery--what more could you ask for? I cannot wait to jump back into the world with Tayce and Zema, and see what T.B. reveals to us next!"

The Mortal and the Shadow

I was totally engrossed in this story!

While the unique world-building and suspense kept me turning the pages, the real strength of this novel is the connection between Tayce and Zema. The development of their relationship feels earned, and I was rooting for them as they helped each other process their respective trauma.

I did feel there were some points in the story where the pacing slowed.

However, the emotional payoff was worth the wait.

There are some dark themes in the book, but they are handled with

Overall, this was an excellent start to a series I look forward to continuing!

The Mortal and the Shadow

"My only complaint about The Mortal and the Shadow is that the second book isn't currently in my hand. T.B. Valentine's world-building was absolutely amazing, complex, and felt lived in without being overly confusing. Tayce and Zema are two protagonists you can easily find yourself rooting for, and all the 'side characters' had such unique voices that by the end, I really felt like I knew them, too. Overall, this is a stunning debut that will guarantee Valentine on my auto-buy author list!"
